Sound Of Worship
Introduction
God can permissively allow a person to carry His anointing as a blanket and let another carry it as a river of living waters flowing out of their belly. This is the difference between called worshipers and trained worshipers; the Saul and the David. Remember Israel cried to Prophet Samuel for a king, God did not approve of it but because they persisted, He permitted it. So He had to put a blanket of anointing/covering upon Saul to be appointed as king. King Saul was a trained worshiper, he was not called. There was just a need and he was available and it was put on him. That is why when God had had enough of him, He took it off and Saul remained exposed and uncovered.
David, on the other hand, was a called worshiper. The guy had it in him. God had given it to him in his belly. He was called and created for it. He was wired for worship. David oozed worship. This is the reason why even in his imperfection as a human being, God could still call him a man after His own heart. It was in him, he didn’t learn it; it was wired in him and he just stirred it up in the bushes while he was still a shepherd boy.
The challenge that we have now in the body of Christ is that we have more of the trained worshipers at the forefront than the called worshipers. The called worshipers are afraid of going through their training and paying the price for the sake of the church, and now the trained ones are the ones who are running the show. While it is good to have trained worshipers covering up for the ‘called’ who are still behind the scenes, the trained ones tend to bring chaos. These are the ones that just join the praise team because they like singing, but not because it’s a ministry they are called and anointed for. So they come and run with the gift, which sustains them only to a certain period, can only hypeup the church for a certain period and when the hype is still going, the church can feel a gap in their spirit because the anointing that feeds the soul is actually absent. So trained worshipers run the church at a loss because the gift does not break the yoke, it is the anointing that breaks the yoke. So we have the church lacking because we are running ministries as sensitive as the worship ministry on gift only and no anointing. This is why you find strife in the worship team, jealousy and competition, just to mention a few. Because anointing makes you understand that it’s not by your might or your power, it makes you understand that it takes God to do what you do, while gift pump you up and make you feel like no one can sing like you do so you now operate in the realm of entitlement. Anyways, let’s deal much in depth on this topic as we go through the text.
